For a certain generation of Singaporeans, what I’m best known for is TalkingCock.com, the first full-bore satirical website in Singapore’s history. It ran from 2000 to around 2010, during which time it chalked up millions of page views, spawned a movie, a bestselling dictionary, video games, a series of spoken word events, got debated in Parliament and even made it into Wikileaks. Why did we decide to shutter the site? That’s a tale for another time…
